A while ago, Level27 investigated the pains and gains of agencies and their specific hosting needs. This revealed some striking results (download the full report here!). Among other things, it showed that it is not always easy for web agencies to sell projects. How do you determine the right (hosting) costs per project and how do you ensure that you have a steady, recurring income in addition to your projects?

As a hosting partner, we want to assist you in this, and it all starts with clarity and transparency. That is why we offer fixed prices per project with Agency hosting, with no hidden costs and no surprises.

In the past, it was most advantageous for agencies to purchase a server on which they could host one or more end customers' websites. However, this is not the right solution for every agency, as it can cause disruption and waste time. A single website can cause the entire server to go down, impacting all customers. In addition, it is not always easy to split the costs of the various websites on a shared server, because which website actually uses the most resources? These are all concerns that do not contribute to a relaxed online experience ;).

With Agency hosting, everything is simpler, clearer and more transparent. Projects are clearly defined and can no longer influence other websites. Prices are also fixed per project. In our control panel, we ask you three simple questions. Based on your answers, we recommend a package that best suits your needs. The configuration is set up in such a way that even a non-technical person knows exactly which package is right for their project and immediately knows what the fixed price is.

In this way, we want you, as an agency, to be able to estimate the costs per project as accurately as possible, saving you valuable time and ultimately allowing you to easily optimise your profit margin.

Limits and upgrades

We briefly mentioned this above: end customers' websites or applications can grow. Flexibility is therefore crucial. That is why we have also ensured clear, transparent limits in our Agency hosting packages.

Limits

Each package has certain limits. These limits ensure that your website has all the tools it needs to run quickly, so you don't have to pay for resources you don't need. Of course, there is a flip side to every coin, because what if the website grows and reaches its limits? We have developed a solution for this. When a website approaches its limits, we will let you know well in advance so that you can decide in time, and discuss with your end customer, whether an upgrade is necessary or not.

For practical reasons, we communicate this via email and notifications in the control panel, which you will see immediately on your dashboard after logging in. From the dashboard, you can click through to the issue and investigate what action is required.

Using Level27 APM, you can further investigate the problem in the project. Level27 APM immediately provides comprehensive insights that help you easily inform your end customer about why an upgrade may be necessary.

Upgrades

When you reach the limit of a package, there are two types of upgrades available within Agency hosting.

Package upgrade: You can always change your package type. This applies to both upgrades from RUN to FLY and downgrades to WALK. Once you upgrade, the resources will be increased and the project can run at full capacity again. If your current component configuration does not fit the package type, the control panel will notify you.

Limit upgrade: The second option is to increase individual limits of your package. We offer two types for this:

More optional components: If you would like to integrate an extra service into your website and you have already used all your optional components, you can easily increase this limit. Once you have increased the limit, the control panel will give you permission to create an extra component.
Extra application memory: This upgrade will boost your website's performance. We provide extra memory for your application. Behind the scenes, we also make more CPU power available. These limit upgrades are temporarily available and can always be removed if they are no longer needed.
