And that's why they're good at what they do: representing and supporting us.
What are we doing with UNIZO?
Of all the Flemish provinces, I believe Limburg has the strongest impact, driven by its chairman Bart Lodewyckx. As a Limburg-based SME, we therefore work closely with UNIZO.
About five years ago, we followed a Strategy & Growth Programme, a programme designed in collaboration with Antwerp Management School to help companies at a turning point with new, guiding advice.
Later, we also established an Advisory Board. An Advisory Board is similar to a Board of Directors, but tailored to SMEs. In our case, the Advisory Board consists of three external members who assist us with the company's long-term vision and strategy. We meet four times a year to discuss strategic issues and monitor our five-year plan. I would say this is a real added value for any SME!
Finally, and this is truly unique to Limburg, there are the G-100 groups, where growth companies meet monthly and can help each other with their challenges. For us, this is a real source of inspiration.
Back to the SME of the Year...
... a title awarded by UNIZO every year. First in each Flemish province, then nationally. To become SME of the Year, you have to put in some effort. This is not a prize that is simply awarded to customers or sponsors, but is based on a “real dossier”, assessed by a “real jury”.
We are therefore delighted with the jury's recognition of the progress we have made and their belief in our vision for the future. And of course, I am proud of my team, because it is thanks to their daily efforts that we have got this far!
This title means a lot to us. That's why we're going to do everything we can to make Limburg proud in the national SME of the Year competition!
