As VOF out of the starting blocks
On a rainy Friday in December 2004 Peter Fastré decided to register the level27.be domain name. Peter soon found a partner in crime who was also up for this hobby project, Level27 was born. On 1 April 2005 (no joke!) it became official and Level27 VOF saw the light of day.
From that moment customers could come to Level27 for web design and web hosting. Peter already wanted to make the difference with the established companies by focusing on innovation and automation right from the start.
Three years later Level27 was no longer a hobby project. The company had grown along with the ambitions. Peter set up a new BVBA to further specialise and focus entirely on web hosting.
First acquisition in 2010
In 2010 came the first acquisition. Level27 took over hosting company Weble and saw its growth double in the short term.
In the years that followed several smaller acquisitions followed. Level27 resolutely focused on consolidation and standardisation, which also made future migrations much smoother. A good move, as it later turned out.
Real breakthrough in 2016
In 2016 the ambitions received an extra boost once again. The bunch of techies running Level27 realised that unique branding, strong marketing and targeted sales were important to reach the top.
At Level27 they decided to go for it and focus fully on better hosting. A few months later Level27 had a clear identity and face to the outside world, a well running sales department and top clients literally started pouring in.
The team doubled in a short time and the office had to be expanded with an extra floor.
Strategic and rapid growth in the hosting market
The company experienced strong annual growth. In 2019 Level27 completed the acquisition of Ghent based SiteHosting. With this acquisition Level27 anchored itself even more strongly in the Belgian hosting market and the annual growth continued to accelerate.
At the end of March 2020 Level27 closed the financial year with growth of again more than 40%. As a hosting partner we are still perfectly on course with our five year plan.
The status quo
Peter Fastré, CEO of Level27, looks back with satisfaction, "The past year was very successful for Level27. We notice that customers want to focus even more on their core business. They are happy to leave the growing complexity around hosting to specialists. Furthermore customers also want to deal with their infrastructure more efficiently and we can certainly help with that. Level27 has a team with the right mix of expertise to completely unburden them in this.”
The icing on the cake
Recently came the icing on the cake, because Deloitte awarded Level27 as one of the fastest growing technology companies in Belgium. We even took home the Fast 50 main prize in our sector. Bam!
A look at the future
Digitalisation and cloud are more topical than ever. Our team is going for it, our customers are very important to us and we are growing at the right speed. Level27 therefore strongly believes in delivering the right service to the customer, so that the customer does not have to adapt to the offering as with so many hosting providers. Only organisations that put their customers at the centre have the right to exist in these times.
