Managing everything yourself is possible, but don’t underestimate it

A cloud provider only guarantees the correct functioning of individual services, which in many cases still deviates from the client’s expectations. So, if you do not design your architecture properly and provide redundancy or backups, you might just be out of luck. And no, most cloud providers do not make automatic snapshots or backups, so they offer little guarantee, making it very important to set this up correctly. Elements such as monitoring, capacity management, and reporting—nothing happens automatically. Finally, costs can spiral very quickly if you do not make the right choices.

We are not know-it-alls, staying realistic is the message

Public cloud management is a sensitive topic. For example, we do not imply that developers are idiots and that we possess all wisdom. On the contrary - we have the utmost respect for good developers and are always realistic about our own capabilities.

We do emphasize that it is difficult to have sufficiently deep knowledge about (constantly changing) cloud providers while your focus is on building applications. Our focus is precisely on that knowledge, and that is the synergy we aim for.
